Furuncle is a deep bacterial infection of a hair follicle and causing necrosis perifollicular suppuration. The result is a painful induration of the dermis caused by an accumulation of pus and dead tissue. After maturation, between five and ten days, the boil opens and removes the hair follicle forming a crater ulceration. Complete recovery occurs within a few days leaving an atrophic scar.
Most human infections are caused by strains of Staphylococcus aureus, favored by manual porting from staphylococcal outbreaks (nostril, cleft, retroauricular).
In most cases, the boil is manifested by the gradual onset of chronic
swelling, red, hot and painful around a follicle. This abscess, small
first, will gradually grow and pus form inside. A reddish area may
appear around the abscess. Boils are the size of a pea to a golf ball. A
yellow or white pustule appears in the center of the ball when the boil
is ready to drain his pus, leaving a red crater. This will take up to
two weeks, leaving an atrophy scar. Preferential topography of the boil
are buttocks, neck, thighs, shoulders, underarms, face and parts
genital. Sometimes, the change is simple: it is an abortifacient and
festering boil not resorbing four to five days. In others cases,
furuncle is more severe and is accompanied by lymphangitis, lymphadenopathy and fever.
The local irritation, poor hygiene, occlusion and obesity promote the occurrence of boils. Their evolution is usually mild and healing and spontaneous: complications are rare and occur mostly in people at risk. Reccurent boils are called 'chronic furunculosis'. In its mild form, a simple wound dressing and hygiene sufficient to promote maturation.

But if you play with furuncle and you don't drink enough water then you have to go to your doctor to get treatment. I had a bad experience of it few years ago. And your doctor will 'heat' you painfully. He will break the boil and press out as strong as he can get out a huge quantities of pus. He will not stop until pus changes to blood. But, you will really support a heavily pain. You may cry or scream but your doctor will not stop until it is out.
